Greetings fellow Feralites and welcome to the Fall!
For several years now I have kept a personal discipline of doing a cleanse (or nutritional detox program) with each changing season, as a way to revitalize my body, mind, and soul in the most natural and holistic way possible.
Cleanses differ from diets (which are our habitual consumption patterns) or extended weight loss plans. Instead they are special times when one consumes or abstains from particular foods to support the normal detox and elimination processes of the body for an appropriate period of time, whether it’s for one day or 40. Every body is different, but over the years I’ve experimented with just about everything from the Master Cleanse and grapefruit fasts to prepackaged herbal supplement flushes and a variety of food regimens. And while having gained some insight and adding more tools to my proverbial belt, I didn’t really achieve the results I was looking for.
You know, finding that sweet spot where you feel rejuvenated, flexible, beautiful and strong. You’re your ideal weight, fit and healthy. Your aura is radiant, your hair luscious and your skin so clear it glows. Most of all, you just have an overall sense of well-being and of feeling, well, yourself! Much of my lifestyle today has blossomed from my evolution with this program over the past 2 years. The last time I participated in the 21 Day Superstar Cleanse was the previous Fall before I got pregnant. I have since eaten a fairly healthy diet though after years of being primarily vegan, once pregnant I began craving eggs, dairy, and occasionally meat. I used to rationalize that my body must be needing the extra protein for the baby, though I’ve personally experienced the energy and vitality I’ve sustained for years with plant-based sources. After having my son and while navigating these initial months in newborn mamahood, my lenience has grown to outright abandon.
Though I still eat healthy (organic & local whole foods recipes as much as possible) I can feel the accumulated tensions and stiffness from diverging so far from my golden path (my ideal healthy & sustainable lifestyle regimen). Now, I am exclusively breastfeeding, so I don’t want to trigger any drastic detoxification that would cause toxins to release through my milk, but I am in desperate need of a power up to help with my postpartum recovery and to…not get back to feeling like my old self, but to attain an even higher plateau! This is why I LOVE this program! No calorie-restrictions or harsh herbs that could affect my milk supply.
